Doctor Blade

The main function of the Doctor Blade in a paper machine is to keep the roller surface clean, prevent paper from sticking to the roller surface, increase the paper stripping rate, and reduce paper defects such as breaks and holes. The Doctor Blade device typically includes a blade body, a pressure-adding and releasing device, and a swing device. The blade body is a rotatable beam that supports the blade and performs the scraping operation. The pressure-adding and releasing device consists mainly of two airbags, which control the contact and separation between the blade and the roller surface by adjusting air pressure. Inflating the airbags presses the blade against the roller, while deflating them lifts the blade off. The swing device ensures a uniform axial reciprocating motion of the blade, preventing localized wear and damage. These components work together to enhance the efficiency and quality of the paper production process by maintaining a clean roller surface, preventing paper adhesion, and minimizing defects.
